Wordle

Wordle is another one of my favorite Web 2.0 tools. It is a great way for students to be creative with words. Students can simply type in words about a topic and the tool will generate a word cloud. Students can search through the various word clouds to choose a design they like the best.

The best part about this tool is that you do not need to register or create an account! This makes it super easy to use with your students. Just type in the website address and click "create" in order to begin your Wordle creation!

According to the Wordle website:
"Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends."
